Golf Safari
Rovos Rail has designed a delightful nine-day Golf Safari to entertain the most discerning player with optional excursions for non-playing guests at all venues. The journey begins in Pretoria and travels east towards Nelspruit. Play at the renowned Leopard Creek or visit the world-famous Kruger Park for a game drive followed by lunch. Then tee off at the Royal Swazi Golf Club in Swaziland or visit Ngwenya Glass with lunch at Guava Galleries and an afternoon game drive in Mkhaya Game Reserve. Next it is on to Zululand for game viewing in the Hluhluwe Reserve before the train heads for Durban. Play at the Durban Beachwood Country Club while non-playing guests enjoy a city tour followed by lunch at the Club. In the foothills of the imposing Drakensberg Mountains, 18 holes await at the Champagne Sports Resort with a guided tour of the Battlefields a further highlight for our non-golfers. Relax as the train travels north towards Sun City in the Pilanesberg Mountains for a full day at this renowned facility before departing for Pretoria where this memorable journey ends.

Golf Safari – Pretoria to Sun City
Depart Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria at 10h00. Lunch is served in the dining car/s as the train starts the spectacular descent to Waterval Onder. (Breakfast 07h00-10h00 • Lunch 13h00 • High Tea 16h00 • Dinner 19h30)
Disembark for a 09h00 game drive in the Kruger Park followed by lunch. Golfers play Leopard Creek Golf Estate at 08h00. Rejoin the train and depart for Swaziland at 18h00.
After breakfast board a coach and visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory followed by lunch at the Guava Gallery and a game drive in Mkhaya Game Reserve. Golfers tee off at Royal Swazi Golf Club at 09h00.
All guests enjoy an early morning game drive in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve in Zululand.
Depart at 11h00 and enjoy brunch on the train as it heads towards Durban to overnight.
Disembark at 09h00 for a city tour of Durban followed by lunch with the golfers at the Durban Beachwood Country Club. Golfers tee off at 07h20.
Enjoy a walk at Champagne Sports Resort or a professional tour of the battlefields near Ladysmith, stopping at various shopping spots along the way. Golfers tee off at Champagne Sports Resort at 09h00.
The train departs from Ladysmith at 07h00 for Sun City.
Enjoy a day at leisure on the train.
Disembark for at 09h30 game drive in the Pilanesberg Reserve then transfer to the Sun City Resort to explore the Palace. Join the golfers for lunch at the Gary Player Country Club. Golfers tee off at Lost City at 09h00.
The train departs Krugersdorp early and arrives at Rovos Rail Station at 10h00.

African Golf Collage
This panoramic nine-day sojourn commences at Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria and winds its way to journey’s end in Cape Town and includes a golfing and non-golfing itinerary. Golf courses include Leopard Creek next to the Kruger Park, Durban Beachwood Country Club, the challenging Humewood Course in Port Elizabeth, the well-known Fancourt Golf Estate in George and Ernie Els’s first signature course in South Africa, the Oubaai Links Course in Knysna. Excursions include game drives in the world-famous Kruger Park, Mkhaya Reserve in Swaziland, Hhluhluwe-Umfolozi (the oldest reserve in Africa) and in the ecologically diverse Addo Elephant Park. Also included is a visit to the renowned Ardmore Ceramics Gallery, a city tour of Bloemfontein, an ostrich-farm visit in Oudtshoorn, dinner at Fancourt Golf Estate and a morning in the natural paradise of Knysna and its surrounding attractions before traversing the Garden Route.
