Namibia Safari
Each year this nine-day 3 400-kilometre journey takes the train from the savannahs of the Highveld to the Atlantic Ocean in the west. The Pride of Africa departs from Pretoria for Kimberley, centre of one of the world’s most famous diamond rushes where there is an opportunity to visit the Big Hole and savour the 1870s atmosphere of the mine museum and village. The railway line then traverses the stark vistas of the arid Northern Cape into Namibia at Ariamsvlei. There is an excursion to the Fish River Canyon – second in size to the Grand Canyon and truly a spectacular sight. The train continues across the Kalahari Desert to Namibia’s capital, Windhoek – a lively, cosmopolitan city with a strong German flavour – for a short city tour. Guests then fly to the world-famous Sossusvlei, a stunning pan in the Namib Desert surrounded by enormous red sand dunes. After a night’s stay with desert drives and a bush dinner, guests rejoin the train in Windhoek and continue overnight to Tsumeb. A night is spent at the Mokuti Game Lodge on the eastern edge of the game-rich Etosha National Park. The journey then continues on to Swakopmund, a perfectly preserved 19th-century German Hansa town set between the dunes of the Namib desert and the roaring Atlantic Ocean – an unforgettable end to a remarkable journey.
Pretoria - Swakopmund
Depart from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria at 15h00. Dinner is served as the train travels southwest for Kimberley.

Arrive in Kimberley at 09h45 and enjoy a tour of the Big Hole and Diamond Mine Museum.
Depart for Upington as lunch is served.
Disembark at 08h00 for a two-hour walking tour of Upington. During lunch the train arrives in Nakop for border formalities. Dinner and overnight on the train.
Disembark the train at 08h00 for a visit to the spectacular Fish River Canyon.
Enjoy a walking tour of Keetmanshoop in the afternoon. The train departs for Namibia’s capital city at 17h00.
Windhoek city tour at 09h00. Depart at 11h00 in a light aircraft for a one-hour scenic flight to Sossusvlei.
Enjoy lunch, a desert drive, a bush dinner and overnight.
At 06h00, enjoy an excursion with breakfast in the desert.
Depart Sossusvlei at 12h00 for the flight Windhoek and rejoin the train.
After breakfast, arrive in Tsumeb and transfer to Mokuti Lodge and the Etosha National Park.
Enjoy lunch, an afternoon game drive and overnight.
Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Etosha National Park. Return to the train for lunch and depart Tsumeb.
Arrive at journey’s end in Swakopmund at 12h00.
Swakopmund - Pretoria
Depart from Swakopmund in Namibia at 10h00 on the Pride of Africa.

Enjoy at two-hour walking tour of Upington at 08h00 before the train heads southeast towards Kimberley.
Arrive in Kimberley at 14h30 and enjoy a tour of the Big Hole and Diamond Mine Museum.
Depart Kimberley at 16h00 and travel north towards Pretoria.
Arrive at Rovos Rail Station in Capital Park, Pretoria, at 12h00.

African Golf Collage
After our Namibia Safari, guests can join this panoramic nine-day sojourn that commences at Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria and winds its way to journey’s end in Cape Town and includes a golfing and non-golfing itinerary. Golf courses include Leopard Creek next to the Kruger Park, Durban Beachwood Country Club, the challenging Humewood Course in Port Elizabeth, the well-known Fancourt Golf Estate in George and Ernie Els’s first signature course in South Africa, the Oubaai Links Course in Knysna. Excursions include game drives in the world-famous Kruger Park, Mkhaya Reserve in Swaziland, Hhluhluwe-Umfolozi (the oldest reserve in Africa) and in the ecologically diverse Addo Elephant Park. Also included is a visit to the renowned Ardmore Ceramics Gallery, a city tour of Bloemfontein, an ostrich-farm visit in Oudtshoorn, dinner at Fancourt Golf Estate and a morning in the natural paradise of Knysna and its surrounding attractions before traversing the Garden Route.
